Photo Retouching is Fun!

A friend needed an old, small family photograph retouched and enlarged to be printed and framed. There was a huge gash down the middle and many small creases that needed removing. The scanner produced unsightly white and black specs on the image.

The Healing Brush Tool proved to be most effective in repairing the wrinkles. Using Curves, I made the image less faded by making the blacks a bit darker.

Hi Matt. The Healing Brush is a great tool, but you might also try the Clone Stamp tool for the areas where the cracks cross the door frame. It can seamlessly duplicate those sharp frame edges where the Healing brush can often leave them slightly smudged. The curves adjustment is spot on thought, well done.
